Pick up supplies to start your semester off strong! Includes clothing, shoes, kitchenware, linens, home goods, dorm essentials, school supplies, small furniture, and more. Free for all currently enrolled students!
This is a come-and-go event, with the items on a first-come first-served basis, so attendees are recommended to first visit the event near the start of the event time. There is no guarantee of specific items! Event volunteers will be on-site, including helping with transporting items to nearby vehicles.

Please note: As a primarily donation-based resource, the BNRC team cannot guarantee the availability of any specific items at the Move-In Market. Items will be given away on a first-come first-served basis; ‘holds’ or ‘reservations’ will not be accepted, unless an attendee is actively transporting items.
Items may include:
- Clothing, shoes, and accessories from Temoc’s Closet
- Hygiene products and toiletries
- School supplies – notebooks, pens, pencils, paper, scantrons, backpacks
- Kitchenware: pots, pans, other cookware, microwaveable dishes, silverware, dish towels, can openers
- Linens: blankets, sheets, comforters, towels, pillows
- Small furniture: chairs, side tables, small bookshelves, shoe organizers
- Miscellaneous dorm essentials, home goods, and small appliances

FAQs
Who can attend the Move-In Market?
All currently enrolled UT Dallas student are welcome to visit this event. Attendees will be asked to sign into the event with the UTD app or otherwise provide their NETID and show their Comet Card. Dependents/spouses of UTD students must be always accompanied by their UTD-affiliated family member.
Do I have to pay for the items I pick up for the Move-In Market?
No! All items offered will be free of charge.
How much can I take with me?
Students are welcome to take what they need, within reason. Please be considerate that there will be other students attending; please only take what you need. Some items may have restrictions, such as one per person, and will be clearly communicated as such by event staff.
Donation Guidelines
Clothing Guidelines
clean and gently used in good condition; free of stains, tears, rips, missing buttons, or obvious malfunctions; freshly laundered or dry-cleaned prior to donation
Linen Guidelines
All linens (towels, sheets, blankets, etc.) should be freshly laundered or dry-cleaned prior to donation. Please be considerate of possible allergies and limit pet dandruff on these items as you gather them to be donated.

Acceptable Donations
- New and gently used clothing, shoes, accessories for Temoc’s Closet. Of particular interest: business attire, supporting students preparing for career fairs and other professional opportunities.
- Unopened/New personal care items (full size and travel size): toothpaste, bar soap, other similar items, menstrual products
- Unopened/New makeup and cosmetics
- Unopened/New undergarments – socks, underwear, hosiery
- New pillows
- Freshly Cleaned Small appliances: microwaves, instant pots / Crock pots, slow cookers, coffee makers, blenders, small vacuums, food processors, pressure cookers, air fryers, hair dryers.
- Freshly Cleaned Kitchenware: cutlery (spoons, forks, knives, chopsticks), pots, pans, baking trays and bakeware, dishes, cups, bowls, plates, food storage containers with lids, cooking utensils (spatula, whisk, tongs), water pitchers, colanders, potholders
- Freshly Cleaned Linens: bath towels, bedding, blankets, kitchen towels, cloth napkins. Free of lint or pet dander.
- Small furniture: lamps, fans, storage bins, shoe racks, coffee tables, bedside tables
- Room accessories: alarm clocks, curtain rods, mirrors, cleaning supplies (broom, dustpan, mop), laundry supplies (bins, drying rack, ironing board, iron, steamer), small Bluetooth speakers, bulletin board, dry erase boards, picture frames
- No binders Unused school supplies: writing utensils, notebooks, notepads
- Reusable tote bags and backpacks are consistently in high demand.
Items not accepted
- Clothing, shoes, and accessories in poor condition: holes, odors, stained, other malfunctions; clothing with inappropriate words or iconography or with another university’s branding
- Undergarments not new in original packaging
- Swimwear
- Large furniture: refrigerators, televisions, bedframes, mattresses, computer monitors, carpets/large rugs, dining tables, bookcases, dressers, large TV stands. If a student can’t transport it in their vehicle, it’s too big for us to reasonably accommodate!
- Foam mattress pads, used pillows, curtains
- Kitchenware: used cutting boards, decorative plates that are not food safe/microwave safe
- School supplies: no binders. The BNRC has an excess of these already!
