Monetary Donations

Monetary Donations will be used to support any or all the programs, services, resources and initiatives housed in the Basic Needs Resource Center.

The Basic Needs Resource Center accepts donations of cash or personal checks made out to UT Dallas. You may bring your donation to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, located at 3000 Waterview Parkway, in the Synergy Park North Building (SPN 2.120), between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. You may also mail your check to:

Direct Donation

The Basic Needs Resource Center is happy to accept direct donations. We ask that any direct donations be new and unopened to ensure the safety of our Comet community.

Items can be purchased through our Amazon List, which is updated monthly to reflect the needs of those served by the BNRC. Items can be purchased for Temoc’s Closet, menstrual products, supplies for our pregnant and parenting Comets, and more.

If you wish to purchase items from another online retailer and ship them to the BNRC, please use the following delivery address for direct delivery:

If you wish to purchase items and drop them off in person, donations can be dropped off at the BNRC, located in SSB 4.300, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. If you are planning on donating a large volume of items, please contact our office to ensure that we can accommodate your donation and assist in coordinating drop off/pick up. For in-kind donations dropped off to SSB 4.300, donors are eligible to receive a tax donation form if requested in advance.

Unused Items

Any clothing donations made that cannot be used for Temoc’s Closet will be further reused or recycled through the university’s special recycling stream for clothing and shoes as applicable. For in-kind donations dropped off to SSB 4.300, donors are eligible to receive a tax donation form if requested in advance.

If your office, organization or business is interested in hosting a donation drive to support Temoc’s Closet, please contact the Basic Needs Resource Center at basicneeds@utdallas.edu.  We would love to partner with you!

Any Level of Support is Appreciated

By donating clothing items to Temoc’s Closet, not only are you helping your fellow Comets, but you are also helping the planet by diverting textile waste from landfills. Any support, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated as we help Comets dress for success! 

Temoc’s Closet

The Basic Needs Resource Center is pleased to accept donations of gently used clothing, shoes, accessories and other items for Temoc’s Closet. You can also support Temoc’s Closet by purchasing in-demand items through our Amazon List.

Donation Requirements

  • Clean and gently used in good condition
  • Free of stains, tears, rips, missing buttons, or obvious malfunctions
  • Freshly laundered or dry-cleaned prior to donation

Donations not accepted

  • Clothing with stains, tears, rips, missing buttons, or obvious malfunctions
  • Used socks and undergarments
  • Swimwear
  • Clothing with another university’s branding
  • Clothing with inappropriate words or iconography
